DANIELSON — Ellis Tech scored three runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth to shut out Wheeler High, 6-0, in a nonleague baseball game Tuesday.

      STONINGTON — Fitch defeated Wheeler High, 7-0, in an ECC out-of-division golf match Thursday at Stonington Country Club.

        PUTNAM — Nolan Arruda earned medalist honors with a 47 and Wheeler High swept Putnam, 7-0, in an ECC Division IV golf match Wednesday at Connecticut National Golf Club.

          STONINGTON — Bryce Reck shot a 47 and Alec Rustici contributed a 49 as the Wheeler High golf team defeated Montville, 6-1, in an ECC out-of-division match at Stonington Country Club Wednesday.

            STONINGTON — Stonington High scored 10 runs in the fifth inning and pitcher Creighton Wesson allowed just one hit in a 14-0 victory over Wheeler in an ECC out-of-division baseball game Monday.

            NORTH STONINGTON — The St. Bernard/Wheeler boys lacrosse team would get all the goals it needed in the first quarter, thanks to a stout performance by junior goalkeeper Danny Schroeder, and defeated ECC Division II rival Stonington High, 8-2, on a rainy and muddy Thursday afternoon at Wheeler High.

              GROTON — Nolan Arruda won his match at No. 1, but the Wheeler High golf team lost to Fitch, 5.5-1.5, at Shennecossett Golf Course on Tuesday in the season-opening match for both teams.

                NORTH STONINGTON — Plainfield scored 12 runs in the third inning and went on to a 24-0 victory over Wheeler in an ECC out-of-division softball game Thursday.
