NEW YORK — Westerly High's Helena Hall-Thomsen finished 11th in the Emerging Elite 400 at the New Balance Nationals indoor track meet at the Armory on Friday.
Hall-Thomsen won her heat by a comfortable margin and finished with a time of 57.18, a school record time. Amber Price established the previous record in the 2002-03 season of 58.40
Hall-Thomsen was the Rhode Island and New England champion in the 600 earlier this season.
Victoria Bossong of Cheverus High, Portland, Maine, finished first in 55.28.
Events at the nationals are competed are divided into two divisions. The qualifying standards for the Emerging Elite division are less stringent.
