Worcester Polytechnic Institute goalkeeper Gabby Hoops has been named to the NEWMAC women’s soccer all-conference first team.

Hoops, a Stonington native, was the inaugural NEWMAC defensive player of the year in 2016. She moves up to the first team after spending the last two on the second following WPI’s 10-6-2 campaign.

The senior co-captain completed the regular season ranked second in save percentage in 940 minutes played in NEWMAC matches. She had a career-high 19 stops in a 2-2 tie versus MIT.

Four of Hoop’s six shutouts were in conference play, including a double-OT draw at Wellesley.
