PROVIDENCE — There are game-changers, then you have Jared Bynum and the lift he provided once his number was called with 11:19 left in the first half of Wednesday’s Big East basketball game against Butler.

PROVIDENCE — Fresh off an impressive takedown of the nation’s fourth-ranked team and staring at a realistic return to the national rankings (top-20 too high?), Providence College found itself needing to subdue a very stubborn (Red) Storm.

PROVIDENCE — Many of the Providence College basketball fans who made the late-night trek to the Amica Mutual Pavilion no doubt reveled in the efficiency that was displayed on both ends of the floor in the Friars’ 99-59 pasting of a shorthanded and undermanned Manhattan College squad.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN — Games at the Ryan Center between the University of Rhode Island and Providence College are no more than the stuff of highlight reels for the players who will be on the court Saturday. 

PROVIDENCE — Back in 2015, Ed Cooley fanned the flames by declaring that Providence’s annual in-state college basketball showdown against the University of Rhode Island isn’t a rivalry game. The PC coach also expressed that the game against the Rams should always take place at the Friars’ venue.

    WESTERLY — John Broccolo scored 19 points and Lee Harrison contributed 17 as J&R Seafood beat Hillandale Food Hub & S.B. Power Wash, 67-55, in the opening week of the Ocean Community YMCA 18+ men's basketball league on Sunday.

      WESTERLY — Landon Husereau threw three touchdown passes and passed for 176 yards as the Westerly Seniors defeated East Lyme, 46-0, in a quarterfinal game in the Southern New England Youth Football Conference on Nov. 6.

        LEDYARD — Landon Husereau threw a pair of touchdown passes and caught a scoring pass as the Westerly Seniors defeated Ledyard, 60-6, in a Southern New England Youth Football Conference game on Oct. 15.
