SOUTH KINGSTOWN — The Duquesne Dukes got off to a 15-2 start this season by being deeper and more all-around talented than their opponents. The University of Rhode Island Rams found a way to overwhelm the balance of the Dukes on Wednesday, electrifying the Ryan Center crowd in a 77-55 win.

    STONINGTON — Camden Ogden scored 24 points, 18 in the fourth quarter, as the Stonington sixth grade travel basketball team beat Valley, 47-27, in the opening game of the Connecticut Basketball Conference season Sunday.

      The Westerly Seniors and Mircos cheerleading squads finished first in their respective divisions at the Southern England Youth Football Conference cheerleading competition on Nov. 10 at Mohegan Sun.

        CHARLESTOWN — Dustin Peno scored a pair of touchdowns as the Chariho Junior Peewees shut out the North Smithfield Express, 31-0, in a Rhode Island Preteen youth football league game Sunday.

          WESTERLY — Colton Urso and Sam Nicholson combined to pitch Westerly 2 to a win against Warwick North, 2-1, in the District 3 Fall Ball baseball tournament Saturday.

            RUMFORD — The Shoreline Surfers, a Westerly based 10u AAU baseball team, earned their first victory against the Jaguars, 6-4, in game two of a double header on Sunday.

              WESTERLY — Jack Parker and Jack Zerbarini limited West Warwick to just two runs as the Westerly National 10-11 A Division team prevailed, 7-2, Saturday in the District 3 fall ball baseball tournament.

                WESTERLY — Grayson Simmons hit a two-run double as the Westerly National 11-10 A Division baseball team beat East Greenwich, 3-2, Thursday in in the District 3 fall ball tournament.

                  WESTERLY — Luis Valdes had three hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Westerly National 8-9 B Division baseball team beat East Greenwich, 7-5, Monday in the District 3 double-elimination tournament.

                    WESTERLY — The Rhody Wave Runners softball team swept a doubleheader on Sunday, defeating the RI Rampage of Burrillville, 8-0, and the Lumber Yard from Massachusetts, 13-3 at Cimalore Field.

                      WESTERLY — Christian Mancini doubled home two runs helping Westerly to a 3-1 win against Exeter-West Greenwich in the District 3 10-11 B Division fall ball tournament Saturday.
