CHARLESTOWN — Dustin Peno scored a pair of touchdowns as the Chariho Junior Peewees shut out the North Smithfield Express, 31-0, in a Rhode Island Preteen youth football league game Sunday.

Peno scored on a pair of 40-yard sweeps.

Carter Hopkins scored on a 45-yard run. Michael Newton also had a scoring run. Adchaeu Harris also had a TD run and a conversion run.

Peno recovered a pair of onside kicks by Naishon Appleton-King.

Newton, Harris Owen Mckeen and the defensive linemen Callan Gooding, Ezrah Schonrog, Julius Wilson, Naishon Appleton-King, Ethan Worsham and Jamie Catanach-Colon played well for the Cowboys.

Chariho (7-1) will have a bye next weekend in the playoffs.

Westerly Seniors 28, Killingly 8

WESTERLY — Eric Fusaro scored a pair of touchdowns as Westerly closed the Southern New England Youth Football Conference season with a win Sunday.

Fusaro caught a 13-yard TD pass from Romello Hamelin and scored on a 50-yard run.

Zack Albanese scored on a 30-yard run and Andre Adams had a 2-yard scoring run.

Drew Bozek kick a pair of extra points and recovered a fumble.

Ben Gorman, Matt Taylor and Matt Garafola also recovered fumbles. Hamelin intercepted a pass.

Gorman, Taylor, Fusaro and Garafola were the leading tacklers for the team.

Griswold 24, Stonington Juniors 14

STONINGTON — Garrett Lenihan passed for more than 100 yards and threw a pair of touchdowns to Tristian Main in Sunday's Gold Bowl game.

Lenihan ran in an extra point and passed to Noah Klewin for another conversion.

Defensive lineman Ben Lewis and defensive ends Cameron Borsher and Mason Perkins played well for the Bears. Outside linebacker Max Massengale was the leading tackler.

It was the final game of the season for the Bears.
