COVENTRY — Westerly High's Xavier Webster finished first in the 160-pound freshman weight class at the JV/freshman state wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Webster finished 3-0 with a pin in 4:44 in the title bout. The division had five wrestlers.

Adam Gomez placed second in the JV 145-pound division. He was 3-1, losing in the finals via a pin.

Westerly was 20th in the team standings with 44 points. Bishop Hendricken was first with 227.5.
