KILLINGLY — Savannah Galluci hit a bases-loaded double in the fifth inning as Wheeler High defeated Ellis Tech, 15-9, in a nonleague softball game Thursday.

Wheeler was leading 4-3 when Galluci delivered her big hit that brought home three runs. She doubled twice and drove in four runs in the victory.

Molly Butremovic and Addie Hauptmann had two RBIs each. Hauptmann scored three times. Marissa Bergel was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Sam Caster scored three times and drove in a run.

Hauptmann struck out eight to earn the win.

Ellis Tech is 5-15. Wheeler (5-10) next travels to Killingly on Saturday. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
