NORTH STONINGTON — Plainfield scored 12 runs in the third inning and went on to a 24-0 victory over Wheeler in an ECC out-of-division softball game Thursday.

The contest was stopped after five innings by the mercy rule.

Molly Butremovic and Julia Ahern each had hits for the Lions (0-2).

The Panthers improved to 2-0.

Wheeler next hosts Windham on Saturday at 4 p.m.
