PROVIDENCE — Westerly High scored the first 11 runs of the game and defeated Central, 14-2, in a Division II softball game Thursday.

The game was called after five innings by the mercy rule. Westerly led 11-0 after two innings.

Adrienne Bowen, Miranda Carreiro, Elena Murdock and Ally Northup drove in two runs each. They each finished with two hits.

Bowen tripled, and Murdock and Northup each doubled. Carreiro scored four times.

Northup pitched all five innings to earn the win. She struck out seven.

Central fell to 1-7, 1-7 Division II.

Westerly (6-1, 6-1) next hosts Stonington on Saturday at noon at Cimalore Field.
