NORTH STONINGTON — Windham scored the first seven runs of the game and defeated Wheeler High, 13-3, in an ECC Division IV softball game Saturday.

Wheeler trailed 7-2 after three innings.

Julie Rudd was 3 for 5 with a double for Wheeler (0-3, 0-2 Division IV). Julia Ahern drove in a pair of runs, and Marissa Bergel was 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

The Whippets (2-1, 2-0) benefited from 15 walks by the Lions.

Wheeler next hosts Norwich Tech on Monday at 4 p.m.
