NORTH STONINGTON — Norwich Tech scored two runs in the fourth inning and fought off a Wheeler High rally in the seventh to beat the Lions, 2-0, in a nonleague softball game Tuesday.

Wheeler had runners on second and third with no outs in the seventh, but failed to score.

Wheeler pitcher Addie Hauptmann struck out seven and limited Windham to just two hits, but still took the loss. Only one of the Windham runs was earned.

Molly Butremovic was 2 for 2, while Savannah Galluci and Julia Ahern each doubled.

Windham improved to 9-4, while Wheeler dropped to 4-9. The Lions travel to St. Bernard on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game.
