GRISWOLD — Stonington High hurt itself with seven errors and fell to Griswold, 13-4, in an ECC Division II softball game Wednesday.

The Bears (9-9, 4-4 Division II) have lost three of their last four.

Griswold (13-5, 6-1) jumped on top in the first inning, scoring six times.

"Just horrible errors, mental, physical," Stonington coach Ann-Marie Houle said. "We just kept giving them more runs. Griswold is too good to be down 6-0."

Maddie Stepski went 2 for 3 with a triple, a run scored and two RBIs for the Bears. Colette Dreher added two hits, and Miranda Arruda drove in a run.

Starter Elaina Previty gave up nine runs on eight hits in two innings, but just four of the runs were earned.

Stonington next hosts East Lyme on Friday at 4 p.m.
