WOOD RIVER JCT. — Chariho High is the No. 3 seed in the Division I softball tournament and will receive a bye in the preliminary round.

Earlier this week, coach Dave Petrocelli said the Chargers would likely be the No. 5 seed since they did not win their division. He said the four division winners would get the top four seeds, but that did not turn out to be the case.

Chariho's opponent has not been determined with a number of Division I games still remaining. The date and time of Chariho's first game has also not been finalized.

Chariho's game will be in the single-elimination portion of the bracket. Chariho needs one win to reach the double-elimination semifinals.
