WESTERLY — Chris Garvin of Kingston finished first in the Setting the Pace for Conservation 5K road race Sunday at the Avondale Farm Preserve.

Garvin covered the 3.1-mile course in 16:06.

Shara Bousquet of Westerly was the top female finisher, placing seventh in 19:58.

Matthew Walker of Westerly placed second in 16:41. The next four local male finishers were Tommy Bousquet, Westerly (third, 17:08), Jeff Walker, Westerly (fourth, 18:15), Matt Nicolella (sixth, 19:08) and Eric Reubelt, Pawcatuck (ninth, 20:30).

The next four local female finishers were Linda Cunningham, Pawcatuck (15th, 22:18), Lila Caminiti, Westerly (21st, 24:09), Sophie Caminiti, Westerly (28th, 25:34) and Carol Ann Gray, Pawcatuck (31st, 26:08).
