WESTERLY — Chris Garvin of Kingston topped the field in the Wahaneeta Trails 5K race at the Wahanetta Preserve Saturday.

Garvin covered the 3.1-mile course in 19:47. Philip Facey of North Kingstown was second in 21:08.

Allyson Cole of Lincoln was the top female finisher in 26:56, 14th overall. Jesse Facey of North Kingstown was 16th overall in 29:12.

The top five local male finishers were Justin Bentley, Ashaway (third, 21:36), Jeff Walker, Westerly (fourth, 22:15), Aaron Tallardy, Westerly (fifth, 22:42), Nick Alge, Hopkinton (ninth, 24:22) and Brandon Tallardy, Westerly (10th, 24:36).

The top local female finishers were Claire Leatham, Wyoming (17th, 29:20), Sheilia Beattie, Westerly (18th, 29:25), Sara Kearney, Westerly (21st, 30:00), Carol Ann Gray, Pawcatuck (23rd, 32:33) and Lori Iskander, Charlestown (24th, 32:57).

The event is conducted by the Westerly Track & Athletic Club.
