VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. — Alan Burnsed (Florida Southern) homered to lead off the bottom of the eighth and Nickolas Oar (Stanford) added a two-run single later in the inning to help the Martha's Vineyard Sharks to a 9-5 victory over the Mystic Schooners in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game Wednesday at Vineyard Baseball Park.

The Schooners had closed to 6-4 in the seventh on an unearned run by Steve Barmakian (George Washington). They tacked on a run in the ninth when TT Bowens (Central Connecticut State) walked in a run.

The loss was the second straight and third in the last four games for Mystic (16-10, second place Southern Division).

Seton Hall's Jerome Huntzinger (2 for 5) was the only Schooner with more than one hit. Nolan Kessinger (UMass Amherst) had an RBI double. Mystic finished with seven hits.

Starter Ryan McLinskey (Seton Hall) allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks in three innings. Peter Myers (Hartford) followed with 1⅔ innings of work, and gave up three runs on five hits and one walk. Myers (2-4) took the loss.
