GROTON — Trey McLoughlin pitched seven strong innings and TT Bowens homered to lead the Mystic Schooners over the New Bedford Bay Sox, 3-2, in a New England Collegiate Baseball game Monday night at Fitch High.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Mystic (11-7, third place Southern Division).

McLoughlin (2-1) allowed two runs on five hits and one walk. The Fairfield University right-hander struck out nine.

New Bedford (5-13) led 2-0 when Bowens, a Montville High graduate, hit a two-run home run in the fifth to tie it. It was the Central Connecticut State player's seventh homer of the season.

The Schooners went ahead to stay in the sixth on an RBI double by Jerome Huntzinger (Seton Hall).

Huntzinger and Bowens each finished with two hits.

Mystic's Will Levine (Arizona State) pitched one inning of shutout relief, and Nicholas Robino (Wagner) earned the save with a scoreless ninth.
