WESTERLY —Jason Keilly of East Greenwich topped the field in the Town of Westerly Run for the Pumpkins 8K race on Saturday at the Bradford Preserve.

Keilly covered the 6.2-mile course in 31:34. Rounding out the top five were Chris Garvin, Kingston (31:36), Jake Cardello, Cranston (32:55), Justin Bentley, Ashaway (33:24) and Jonathan Hammett, Charlestown (33:37).

Alana Olendorf of Mystic was the top female, placing 12th in 40:49. Allyson Cole of Lincoln finished 13th (43:35) and Ashley Greene of Westerly was 14th (44:58).

The race had 27 finishers.

Westerly's Aaron Tallardy topped the field in the 5K race.

Tallardy finished the 3.1-mile course in 19:44.

Rounding out the top five were Tommy Bousquet, Westerly (20:20), Owen McLaughlin, Westerly (20:59), Ian Lonergan, Saunderstown (21:01) and Brandon Tallardy (21:52).

Shara Bousquet was the top female finisher, placing seventh in 24:05.

Kaya West of Westerly was eighth in 25:01 followed by Madison Lorello of Westerly in ninth (25:02). Claire Leatham of Wyoming was 19th (27:44) and Shelia Beattie of Westerly placed 20th (28:57).

The race had 42 finishers.

The races were sponsored by the town's Recreation Department and the Westerly Track & Athletic Club.


Burrillville 12, Chariho 6

CHARLESTOWN — Burrillville scored on a 1-yard run in overtime to defeat the Chariho Peewees on Sunday.

Harrison England, who rushed for 85 yards, scored on a 9-yard run in the first half for Chariho. Brayden Landgren rushed for 30 yards and Reilly Porter 15. Trevor Cheney caught a 10-yard pass from Camren Jones.

Benji Romano recovered a fumble. Jones and Damin Cook had interceptions. Defensive linemen Daimon Senna, Bruce Price and Lucas Callahan played well. England finished with seven tackles.
