NEW LONDON — The Eastern Connecticut Eagles defeated the Tri-Town Terrorcats, 7-2, on Thursday night at Connecticut College to capture their second straight Nutmeg Conference ice hockey championship.

Senior Ryan Huta finished with three goals and an assist for the Eagles (14-7-1 overall). Kyle Jacobson added a pair of goals and a pair of assists, Will Cannella had a goal and three assists, and Evan Tower had one goal and one assist. Devyn Jordan, Ashton Baltes, Trent Hughson and senior Nellie Horvath each had an assist.

Goalie Rylin Fowler made 18 saves.

Eastern Connecticut is comprised of student-athletes from East Lyme, Fitch, Griswold, Hale Ray, Ledyard, Stonington, Waterford and Wheeler high schools.
