MILFORD, Conn. — Stonington High finished second at the Class S state gymnastics meet on Saturday at Jonathan Law High, its best finish ever at a state meet.

Stonington finished with a team score of 130.675, trailing only state power Woodstock Academy (143.50).

Stonington finished second on vault with a score of 34.35 on vault. Those scoring on the apparatus were Hanna Laskey (9.2), Desiree Zaharie (8.5), Lila Rich (8.35) and Katya Torruella (8.3).

The Beas were also second on the uneven bars with a 32.175. Laskey (8.575), Rich (8.0), Torruella (8.15) and Ruth Greene (7.45) scored for Stonington.

Stonington placed third on the beam (30.30). Laskey (7.75), Rich (8.125), Autumn Nelson (7.225) and Olivia Sweeney (7.2) scored.

Stonington finished fourth on the floor (33.85). Laskey (8.7), Rich (8.2), Torruella (8.75) and Abby Remmert (8.2) scored for Stonington.

In all-around, Laskey finished with a 34.225 and Rich had a 32.675.
