NORWICH — Hanna Laskey finished first in all-around and Katya Torruella was second as the Stonington High gymnastics team defeated Norwich Free Academy, 135.85-121.65, on Thursday.

Laskey finished with a score of 34.6. She was first in vault (9.4), third on bars (8.15), fourth on beam (8.6) and fifth on floor (8.45).

Torruella was first on beam (9.0) and bars (8.4), fifth on vault (8.25) and tied for third on floor (8.5) for a score of 34.15

Lila Rich finished fourth in all-around at 33.65. She was second on beam (8.95) and floor (8.65), sixth on vault (8.15) and fourth on bars (7.9).

Others who contributed to the Stonington team score were Desiree Zaharie (third, vault, 8.35), Ruth Greene (second, bars, 8.3), Maddy Stepski (fifth, beam, 8.3) and Abby Remmert (tied for third, floor, 8.5).

Stonington is off until Feb. 13 when it travels to the ECC championships at Deary Gymnastics in Killingly. The meet starts at 6 p.m.
