RICHMOND — Jack Adams shot a 4-over 39 as the Westerly High golf team split a Southern Division match Wednesday at Laurel Lane Country Club.

Adams was the medalist. South Kingstown won the tri-match with a 162. Westerly had a 195 and Chariho a 205.

Other scorers for Westerly were Drew Mason (43), Seth Kadar (53) and Jack Carey (60) on the par-35 course. Mason had a birdie on No. 3, a par 3 that plays 177 yards.

It has not been determined if Westerly (4-9-1, 4-9-1 Southern Division) has qualified for the postseason match between the third-, fourth- and fifth-place teams in the division.

The winner of that match joins the top two teams in the league as state tournament qualifiers.

South moved to 8-3. Chariho dropped to 0-14.
