WESTERLY — Westerly High improved its serving and passing and earned its first Division II girls volleyball win of the season defeating Toll Gate, 3-1, Tuesday night at Federico Gym.

Westerly won by set scores of 23-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-22.

"We definitely passed a lot better tonight and we had a lot less missed serves," coach Erinn Beal said. "It makes a big difference."

Alexa Beal and Kylee Marley finished with 10 kills each. Beal had eight digs and Marley seven.

Daisy Gates contributed eight kills and 10 digs. Anna Cozzolino and Olivia Marsh had six kills each. Gates came up with 10 digs and Marsh seven. Marsh also finished with 16 assists.

Westerly, which had opened the season with a pair of five-set losses, is now 1-2, 1-2 Division II. Toll Gate dropped to 1-1, 1-1.

Westerly next hosts North Smithfield on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
