WESTERLY — Emma Stahl had 12 consecutive service points in the fourth game, Daisy Gates had 11 kills and 11 digs, and Westerly High defeated North Smithfield, 3-1, in a Division II girls volleyball match Friday.

The game scores were 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18.

Westerly coach Erinn Beal said the Bulldogs trailed 16-9 in the fourth game when Stahl went in to serve. When North Smithfield regained possession, it trailed 21-16.

"They just couldn't do anything with [her serves]," Beal said. "She brought us up to 21 and we were able to finish from there."

Alexa Beal added eight kills, one block and 10 digs for Westerly (2-2, 2-2 Division II). Kylee Marlee had seven kills, two blocks and six digs, and Olivia Marsh had three kills, three aces, nine digs and 18 assists.

North Smithfield fell to 0-4, 0-4.

Westerly next hosts Bay View on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
