SACO, Maine — Westerly High's Helena Hall-Thomsen placed third in the 400 at the 74th annual New England outdoor track championships Saturday at Thornton Academy.
Hall-Thomsen finished with a time of 57.24 to earn All-New England honors. The top six finishers are All-New England. She was the New England champion in the 600 during the indoor season.
Danbury freshman Alanna Smith won the race in a track-record time of 55.49.
Anna Cozzolino placed 11th in the javelin with a throw of 111-11.
Westerly's Sydney Federico finished 17th in the 200 (26.77).
Westerly's 4x400 relay of Nina Cillino, Federico, Cozzolino and Hall-Thomsen placed 10th (4:06.94).
