STONINGTON — Stonington High fell to familiar foe Weston, 7-0, in the quarterfinals of the Class S state girls tennis tournament Wednesday.

Weston won every match in straight sets.

This is the fourth straight year No. 7 Weston (16-2) has eliminated Stonington, including last season in the Class S title match. Weston has ended Stonington's season 10 times since 2004.

Stonington did beat Weston in 2013 for the Class S title.

No. 3 Stonington, which has just three seniors among its top 10 players, finished 15-2.

Weston next travels to Old Lyme for the semifinals Thursday at 3 p.m.
