WESTERLY — Melanie Gomes and Jessica Burke each won two races as the Westerly High girls swim team beat Portsmouth, 52-42, in a Stoyko Division meet Wednesday night at the Ocean Community YMCA

Gomes was first in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:30.47 and the 100 breaststroke (1:17.23).

Jessica Burke won the 100 butterfly (1:04.48) and the 500 freestyle (5:53.62).

Jenna Burke took first in the 100 free (59.77) and was second in the 50 free.

London Armitage won the 100 backstroke (1:09.30) and was second in the 200 free.

Sophia Martino finished second in the 100 breaststroke. Lindsey Pride contributed a third place in the 100 butterfly.

The Burkes, Gomes and Sofia Cozzolino finished first in the 200 medley relay (2:03.08). The Burkes, Gomes and Armitage won the 200 free relay (1:30.80).

Myranda Johnstone, Martino, Armitage and Emma Turano placed second in the 200 medley relay. Johnstone, Turano, Cozzlino and Martino finished second in the 400 free relay.

Westerly (2-1, 2-1 Division II) next travels to Middletown on Thursday for a meet at 7:30 p.m.
