WESTERLY — Melanie Gomes and Jenna Burke won two races each as the Westerly High girls swim team edged Moses Brown, 48-45, in a Stoyko Division meet Wednesday night at the Ocean Community YMCA.

Gomes was first in the 100 freestyle (56.69) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.60). Burke won the 50 free (26.26) and the 100 backstroke (1:07.21).

Jessica Burke placed second in the 100 butterfly and the 500 free.

London Armitage finished second in the 200 individual medley and third in the 500 free. Sofia Cozzolino contributed a third in the 200 free.

The Burkes, Gomes and Armitage won the 200 medley relay (1:56.93) and the 200 free relay (1:49.37). 

Myranda Johnstone, Sophia Martino, Emma Turano and Cozzolino finished second in the 200 medley relay, the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.

Moses Brown is 3-3, 3-3 Stoyko Division. Westerly (7-2, 7-2) next competes in the Division II championship meet Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. at Roger Williams University.
