MIDDLETOWN — Seven players scored goals as the Westerly High girls lacrosse team defeated Rogers, 13-2, in a Division II game Thursday.

Kata Cummings led the way with three goals and an assist for the Bulldogs (5-0, 5-0 Division II).

Ashley Amato contributed a pair of goals and an assist, Carly Chretien, Lauren Dobson and Diana Turano added two goals each, Abby White had a goal and an assist, Hedy Goodman scored once, and Grace Armstrong had an assist.

Westerly won 13 draws and led 8-2 at the half. The Bulldogs had not played since April 17.

Westerly coach Meg Paisley said the layoff may have actually helped the Bulldogs heal from some injuries. Lauren Dobson had suffered an ankle injury in the last Westerly game on April 17.

Paisley said the midfielder only played attack on Thursday, but did not experience any pain during the game.

Rogers, which defeated Westerly in the D-III title game last season, dropped to 2-3, 2-3 D-II.

Westerly next travels to Bay View on Saturday for a 3:45 p.m. game.
