NEW LONDON — Gracie Anderson had six goals and two assists in a losing effort for Wheeler High, which fell to New London, 16-11, in an ECC Division IV girls lacrosse game Friday.

Daniella Roy added five goals for the Lions (1-10, 1-9 Division IV), and Leigha Dubois had an assist.

The Whalers (4-9, 2-5) led 8-4 at halftime.

Goalies Sam Morrissey (6) and Sarah Spracklin (3) combined for nine saves in goal for Wheeler, which next plays at Ledyard on Monday at 4 p.m.
