STONINGTON — Three Stonington High runners were named to the first-team in ECC Division II for girls cross country this season.
Senior Lindsey Orr, junior Lily Anderson and freshman Maddie Hamm earned the honor.
Orr was the team's top runner in most of the races. She was first across the line five times including a 23rd place finish at the Class SS state meet. She was 15th overall and second for the Bears at the ECC championships. Orr also received the sportsmanship award for the Bears and was the team's scholar-athlete.
Anderson was Stonington's top runner in two races this season and was the first Bear across the line at the ECC championships placing 10th. She placed 33rd at the Class S meet, the second Stonington finisher.
Hamm finished 30th at the ECC championships, third for the Bears, and was 63rd at the Class SS state meet. Hamm also finished first overall in a league meet at Killingly during the regular season.
Stonington finished 8-4 overall and 5-1 in ECC Division II during the regular season. The Bears shared the league title with Bacon Academy after the results at the ECC championship meet were included.
Stonington was seventh at the Class SS meet.
