UNCASVILLE — Savannah Galluci scored 18 points and the Wheeler High girls basketball team beat St. Bernard, 36-32, in an ECC-Division IV game Tuesday night.

Galluci also had eight rebounds.

"We played a zone defense due to their outstanding shooting," Wheeler coach Christine Corah said. "We were picking up and communicating. We pressed some and played man to man some."

Wheeler led 14-12 at the half and 27-19 at the end of the third quarter.

Molly Butremovic contributed eight points and 10 rebounds. Sam Caster had seven rebounds.

St. Bernard dropped to 1-1, 0-2 ECC Division IV. Wheeler (2-2, 1-1 ECC Division IV) next travels to Killingly on Friday at 7 p.m.
