WESTERLY — Westerly High will face Tolman on Wednesday at Johnston in the opening round of the girls state basketball tournament.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. Seedings for the tournament are based on regular-season league wins and victories in the divisional tournaments.

Sixth-seeded Westerly (17-7) finished 14-3 during the regular season and won two playoff games before losing to Classical, 48-39, in the D-II title game Sunday.

Tolman (20-3), the No. 11 seed, was 16-1 during the regular season in Division III. The Tigers defeated Pilgrim, 37-26, for the D-III title on Sunday.

The winner faces No. 2 South Kingstown or No. 15 Central on Saturday at Rhode Island College. South Kingstown lost to La Salle Academy in the D-I title game, 49-41, on Sunday.
