TIVERTON — Tiverton made just a few more free throws than Westerly High and beat the Bulldogs, 42-37, in a Division II girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Tiverton was 19 of 42 (45.2%) from the line, while the Bulldogs were 14 of 34 (41.1%). The two teams combined for 76 free throw attempts.

Jackie Fusaro was the top scorer for Westerly with nine points. Meg Beal contributed seven. Alexa Beal finished with 13 rebounds and Kylee Marley had 10.

Tiverton (10-5, 9-4 Division II) led at the half, 17-16.

Marissa Cayer scored 16 for the Tigers.

Westerly (4-14, 4-9) next hosts Middletown on Thursday at 7 p.m.
