WATERFORD — Waterford put up 22 points in the fourth quarter and surged past Stonington High, 51-50, in an ECC Division II girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Stonington had a 13-point lead, 44-31, early in the fourth quarter. But Waterford (6-3, 3-1 Division II) went on a 13-0 run to tie the game at 44.

From there the Lancers were able to pull out the win. It was Stonington's third straight loss.

Zoe Ribeiro led Stonington (4-4, 1-3) with 24 points and 20 rebounds. Sophia Bell contributed 12 points and 14 rebounds. Stonington was just 10 of 23 (43.5%) from the free-throw line.

Milly Walker scored 17 for the Lancers, and Mia Chiappone had 14.

Stonington next hosts Windham on Friday at 7 p.m.
