NORTH STONINGTON — Putnam limited Wheeler High to single digits in every quarter and beat the Lions, 55-29, in an ECC Division IV girls basketball game Tuesday.

Putnam led 26-15 at the half. The Clippers are now 15-3 and finished the Division IV season at 8-0.

Annie Dussault and Molly Butremovic led Wheeler (11-8, 3-5) in scoring with nine points each. Sam Caster had 10 rebounds and Butremovic finished with eight.

Kayleigh Lyons was the top scorer for Putnam with 17.

Wheeler next hosts Montville on Friday at 7 p.m.
