NORWICH — NFA used a fourth-quarter surge to turn back Stonington High, 48-37, in an ECC out-of-division girls basketball game Tuesday night.

NFA (4-5) led 31-30 with about six minutes left in the game. The Wildcats then outscored the Bears 13-4 to take a 44-34 lead with about four minutes remaining. Stonington was unable to overcome the deficit.

Miranda Arruda led Stonington in scoring with 13 points. Zoe Ribeiro finished with nine. Sophia Bell and Olivia Fustini each had 10 rebounds.

Stonington shot just 55.6 percent from the free-throw line, making 10 of 18 attempts. The Bears had beaten NFA, 45-38, on Dec. 13.

Stonington next hosts New London on Saturday at 7 p.m.
