NORWICH — Molly Butremovic had 11 points and five rebounds to help the Wheeler High girls basketball team top Norwich Tech, 35-30, in a nonleague contest Friday, the season finale for the Lions.

Wheeler, which played all its games on the road due to a construction project at the school, finished 6-15.

"Everyone played really well tonight," coach Christine Corah said. "It was a long time coming. It was a stressful season with all the injuries, sicknesses and traveling. It was nice to get everyone some minutes tonight and to demonstrate how much we've grown."

Butremovic added three blocked shots and three steals. Leah Pion had six points and nine rebounds, and Annie Dussault had six points and four assists for the Lions.

Geovonna Taitague led the Warriors (7-13) with 12 points.
