WATERFORD — Aliza Bell scored 10 points and grabbed 20 rebounds as the Stonington High girls basketball team topped Waterford, 51-40, in an ECC Division II game Friday night.

Stonington outscored Waterford 13-2 in the final quarter for the win. The game was tied at 38 after three quarters.

Miranda Arruda contributed 14 points and had five rebounds for the Bears (8-1, 2-0 ECC Division II). Sophia Bell added 10 points and six rebounds, and Zoe Ribeiro had nine points and 11 boards.

Waterford dropped to 2-4, 0-2.

Stonington next travels to NFA on Tuesday. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
