LEDYARD — Miranda Arruda scored 13 points and Aliza Bell added 12 as Stonington High topped Ledyard, 56-20, in an ECC Division II girls basketball game Monday night.

Stonington took control early opening a 24-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Bears outscored Ledyard 18-0 in the second quarter to lead 42-7 at the half.

Zoe Ribeiro contributed nine points including a 3-pointer.

Arruda also had five steals and Bell led the team with 11 rebounds.

Ledyard dropped to 1-1.

Stonington (4-0, 1-0 ECC Division II) travels to Haddam-Killingworth on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game.
