WESTERLY — Nick Turo topped the field in the weekly Tom McCoy Fun Run Wednesday night.

Turo finished with a time of 17:25 on the 3.1-mile course. Aaron Tallardy was second in 19:07.

Justin Bentley, Chris Garvin and Jonny Hammett finished tied for third in 20:15.

Sara Kearney and Eve Spencer were the first two female runners across the line in 21:31. Evin vonHousen was next at 23:04.

In the ⅓-mile children's race, Luke West was first in 2:14, one second ahead of Megan Hutchison and Sarah Hutchison (2:15).

The next two boys were Jake Reyes (2:22) and Evan Adams (2:24). Maddy Murray (2:28) was the third girl.

The event had 105 adults and 45 children.

The final Fun Run race is Aug. 7 followed by a number of other events sponsored by the Westerly Track & Athletic Club.

The Bottone Mile will take place on Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. A $5 fee will be charged for those that did not register in advance online.The race will be on a measured mile that starts near the Fun Run course.

The Wahanetta Trail 5K race will take place on Aug. 17 at 9 a.m. at the Wahaneeta Preserve, Moorehouse Road, Westerly. The entry fee is $15 for adults and $10 for those 18 and under.

The Stonington XC Fun Run 5K is Aug. 21 at Stonington High at 6 p.m. A $5 fee will be charged for those that did not register in advance.

The Charlie Stavros On the Beach Run is Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Westerly Town Beach Pavilion. The event is free.
