STONINGTON — Ellie Korinek scored a pair of goals as Stonington High advanced to the ECC tournament field hockey championship game with a 3-1 win against Fitch in the semifinals Tuesday.
Stonington, the No. 3 seed, will host top-seeded East Lyme in the title game Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The two teams shared the regular-season title after compiling 10-0-2 league records and tying each other twice during the regular-season.
The two teams also played to a scoreless tie in last year's ECC tournament championship game.
Korinek scored her first goal 3:38 into the game. A shot by Maddie Mendez went through the keeper's feet where Korinek knocked it across the goal line.
Her second goal came with 4:33 left in the game when she converted a pass from Olivia Monte on the left post.
Kaira Wiltshire scored Stonington's other goal in the first five minutes of the second half when she lifted a rebound of a shot by Sarah Flakus past the Fitch goalie
Stonington outshot No. 3 Fitch, 12-10. Goalie Claire Evans made eight saves. Fitch is 8-8-1.
East Lyme moved to the title game with a 5-1 win against Killingly in the other semifinal Tuesday.
