STONINGTON — Stonington High put up five goals in the first half and cruised past Killingly, 5-2, in an ECC field hockey match Saturday.

Ellie Korinek scored three times, and Olivia Monte had two goals in the win. Sandy McGugan contributed two assists; Monte had one.

Stonington finished with 33 shots and eight penalty corners, three in the first two minutes.

Stonington (6-2-1, 6-0-1 ECC) did not allow a shot or penalty corner in the first half.

Korinek and Monte were effective on the wings, while McGugan controlled the midfield, coach Jenna Tucchio said in an email.

Killingly dropped to 2-5-1, 2-5-0.

Stonington next hosts Fitch on Monday at 3 p.m.
