NARRAGANSETT — Jack Kenser drove in four runs as Chariho beat top-seeded Narragansett, 9-3, in the Connie Mack baseball state tournament quarterfinals Friday at Sprague Field.

Kenser finished with four hits and is 8 for 8 in his last two games. Chariho leads the best-of-three series, 1-0.

Chariho pitcher John Pellegrino limited Narragansett to five hits will striking out four in a complete-game victory.

Alan Carpenter drove in two runs and Pellegrino also had an RBI. Cyrus Seeley walked three times and had a hit.

Game 2 of the series is Saturday at Old Mountain Field in South Kingstown at 10 a.m.
