NEW YORK — Stonington High's 1,600 sprint medley relay team placed 24th at the New Balance Nationals indoor track meet Saturday at the Armory.

Chase Flynn, Ben Abely, Joey Hinckley and Rhys Hammond combined for a time of 3:37.90 in the Championship race. A Bronxville, N.Y. school won the event in 3:27.34.

La Salle Academy placed third in 3:29.70 and St. Raphael was fifth (3:31.62).

Events at the meet are divided into two divisions — Emerging Elite and Championship. The qualifying standards for the Championship race are more stringent.
