MANCHESTER, Conn. — Stonington High's Robert Lewis is 49th in the state decathlon after the first day of competition at Manchester High.

Lewis was 40th in the 100 (12.13), 48th in the 400 (58.97), 48th in the high jump (5-0.25), 63rd in the long jump (15-11½) and 57th in the shot put (27-2). Lewis compiled 2,225 points

Joey Hinckley was 51st with 2,143 points. Hinckley was 23rd in the 100 (11.74), 33rd in the 400 (56.85), 21st in the long jump (18-5¼) and 50th in the shot put (28.5.75). Hinckley did not clear the minimum height in the high jump.

Ben Abely was 57th with 1,964 points. Abely placed 17th in the 100 (11.67), 60th in the 400 (1:00.90), 55th in the long jump (16-7¾) and 33rd in the shot put (31-10). Abely did not clear a height in the high jump.

Competition continues Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the 110 hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500.
