WOONSOCKET — Westerly High earned its fourth straight win, defeating Woonsocket, 6-1, in a Division III boys tennis match Thursday.

After starting the season 0-2, the Bulldogs are now 4-2 overall and in the league.

Westerly swept the doubles. Joel Henry and Kyle Cioffi prevailed at No. 1, 6-0, 6-2. Jackie Chen and Sebastian Reisch won at No. 2, 7-5, 6-3. Brandon McAteer and Chris Celico combined for a win at No. 3, 6-0, 6-2.

"Kyle and Joel are starting to click as a team," Westerly coach Terence McAndrew said. "They had a good loss against Exeter-West Greenwich two weeks ago and have had solid weeks of practice since then. This was their second clean victory."

Singles winners were No. 2 Ryan Teixeira, 7-6, 6-2. Teixeira won the tiebreaker in the first set, 7-5. J.D. Dauphinais won at No. 3, 6-0, 6-3, and Brandon Larossa was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at No. 4.

Woonsocket dropped to 4-2, 4-2.

Westerly next hosts Cranston East on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
