WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Stonington High's top singles player and doubles team have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class S state tournament at Conard High.

Jake Stiger, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, advanced with a 6-4 6-7 (4), 10-8 win over Nolan Turtoro of Wamogo.

Fourth-seeded Graham Johnstone and Kyle Remmert beat Ian Danforth-Gold and Harrison Tillou of Housatonic Regional, 6-3, 6-4.

Stonington is tied for fourth in the team standings with seven points. Litchfield leads with 16.

The tournament resumes Tuesday at Conard.
