STONINGTON — Stonington High won all four singles matches in straight sets and defeated Waterford, 7-0, in an ECC Division II boys tennis match Friday, the first league match of the season for the unbeaten Bears.

Singles winners were No. 1 Jake Stiger, 6-3, 6-3; No. 2 Sean Bessette, 6-0, 6-2; No. 3 Kyle Remmert, 6-4, 6-4; and No. 4 Graham Johnston, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Nathan Gonzalez and Quinn Hamilton teamed to win at No. 1, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5; Alex Mann and Jack Ramsdell prevailed at No. 2, 6-0, 6-1; and Justin Johannsen and Shah Haider won at No. 3, 6-3, 6-3.

The Bears improved to 5-0, 1-0 Division II. The Lancers fell to 1-2, 0-2.

Stonington next visits Bacon Academy on April 23 at 4 p.m.
