PLAINFIELD — Scott Pion scored three goals and assisted on two others as Wheeler High shut out Plainfield, 5-0, in an ECC Division IV boys soccer game Saturday.

Ian Spracklin contributed a goal and two assists. Ethan Foberg scored the remaining Wheeler goal and Matt Pierce had an assist. Wheeler has won three straight.

"Lukas Jones and Conor Melinosky controlled the middle of the field. Ethan Foberg is playing very well," Wheeler coach Joe Mendonca said. "Aidan Cameron had a good game in the back. They were really bringing up their line, but we were able to chip balls over the top."

Plainfield dropped to 2-2-2, 1-1-1 Division IV.

Wheeler (3-3, 3-0) next hosts St. Bernard on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
